We dreamed up this Georgetown bridal shoot during the long winter months, imagining (and pining for) the beauty that surrounds the city as it warms. Everything starts to bloom. Every red-bricked street is accented by white, purple, and pink trees. I wanted our bridal shoot to have the breathtaking feeling of Spring amid the classic backdrop that Georgetown provides year-round.
We worked with a stellar team of people to make this happen. Event stylist Heather Misner helped bring our vision to life effortlessly using a soft palette of blush and ivory, complemented by striking navy blue and gold accents. She created an intimate sweetheart table and an irresistible dessert table featuring fresh blueberries and blackberries, touches of basil and honey, and delicate tarts, macaroons, and cookies. The minimalist cake and sparkling wine infused with rock candy were the perfect pair to complete this light, delectable fare. Makeup artist Jessie Campbell and hair stylist Kirsten Eike transformed our beautiful model Ryan Leigh into afternoon and evening visions of Spring.
Everlong Flowers provided gorgeous bouquets filled with blushing hydrangeas and pink and purple peonies. Pave Jewelers gave us some stunning custom sapphire, gold, and diamond pieces that looked incredible with the swoon-worthy gowns from Hitched. The Ritz Carlton in Georgetown provided a classic backdrop of red brick and lush greenery that is central to this historic area. They also let us photograph our bride in the chimney stack, which is an integral part of the Georgetown cityscape, sheltered by a large sky light which peers into the city. We used more vivid pinks and bold reds there for a more dramatic bridal look. From there, we walked to the windy Georgetown waterfront that gave our bride a beautiful, sun-kissed glow.
