Colleen has been a dear friend for over a decade, so when she met her match in Paul, we were thrilled for her. They are both intelligent, strong-willed, kind and compassionate to those around them. Colleen has one of the biggest and most generous hearts we know and has been a sponsor of some of our biggest life moments–including our wedding shower and going away party when we moved to Florida. She’s always been easy to admire for her resolute faith and joy in daily life. We also share a love of music and performance. So let’s just say she has a special place in our hearts!
The wedding day was a great mix of Paul and Colleen’s personalities–classy, humorous, with a little magic or “juju” as Colleen’s friends described her. They combined Colleen’s Irish heritage with Paul’s aversion to dancing for their first dance, performed around them by an Irish step dancing troupe. They danced a little, too. The ceremony was heart felt at Truro Anglican Church in downtown Fairfax, and the couple said their vows reflecting their deep faith in God and hope for life with each other. The rest of the wedding day achieved Paul’s goal of being funny through and through. Family toasts turned into roasts, but we came to appreciate Paul’s steadfastness and honesty with those he loves. We were thrilled to be a part of their day, to see so many long time friends, and to capture images as they became husband and wife!
