The best beaches in and around Fort Lauderdale for family photos

• Our favorite is Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. Only 2.5 miles from Donner Photos Studio, it is certainly the most convenient. Parking is typically easy to find on all but the busiest of holiday weekends. Less built up than other nearby beaches means that you can always find a spot of beach to ourselves. There are many great family-friendly restaurants nearby to grab dinner after your shoot.

• Pompano Beach is another favorite. We like to be on or near the new pier. The beaches are very wide and there is a beautiful boardwalk shaded by sea grape trees. One of our favorite restaurants is Beach House.

• The very south end of Fort Lauderdale Beach. The section between the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach and the Port Everglades inlet is beautiful and uncrowded. Many of our clients are vacationing and staying at the Marriott or Lago Mar or one of the hotels further north where more of the action is.

• Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. This park is directly across the street from the north end of Fort Lauderdale Beach. W often split our time for a family session by doing some shots in the park and some on the beach. Some of the photos in this post are from Birch State Park.

• Dania Beach and Dr. Von D Mizell-Eula State Park. Beautful natural environments off the beaten path.

• Hollywood Beach is very popular too. This spot can get crowded, but it is convenient for many families that stay at Margaritaville, The Diplomat, or the other resorts nearby.
